DNA to help in baby mother search
Police investigating the abandonment of
a baby in Edinburgh this summer are to
use special DNA techniques in an
attempt to establish his parentage.
Detectives in London used the isotopic
sampling in the case of a boy whose
body was found in the Thames, to
pinpoint where in Africa he was from.
Baby Gary, whose mother has not been
traced, was found in Holyrood Park in
August and is now with a foster family.
His DNA will be compared with a control
sample from a local woman.
