 Higgins through to Preston final   1/3 

 Scotland's John Higgins beat compatriot

 Stephen Hendry 6-4 to set up a final   

 against world number one Ronnie        

 O'Sullivan at the Preston Grand Prix.  

                                        

 World number two Hendry rattled in a   

 break of 107 to take the first frame   

 and a 90 clearance put him 3-1 ahead.  

                                        

 But Higgins, the world number six, left

 Hendry reeling with breaks of 69, 126, 

 57 and 64 before Hendry rallied with a 

 clearance of 72.                       

                                        

 However, a ruthless Higgins clinched   

 the match with a break of 86.
