 Purdy charges into Las Vegas lead      

 American Ted Purdy fired a second      

 straight 65 to romp to a two-shot      

 third-round lead at the Las Vegas      

 Championship at TPC Summerlin.         

                                        

 Purdy reached 18 under as Steve Lowery 

 climbed into second with a blistering  

 64 alongside fellow Americans Charles  

 Howell and Harrison Frazar.            

                                        

 Halfway leader Briny Baird of America  

 ran up a six-over 78, which included a 

 quadruple bogey, to slip to nine under.

                                        

 Wales' Phillip Price carded 68 for 13  

 under and a share of ninth.
