 Eriksson suffered loyalty dilemma      

 Sven-Goran Eriksson says he was to     

 blame for England's poor start to the  

 season because he kept faith with      

 players when they were out of form.    

                                        

 Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard and      

 Michael Owen were below par against    

 Denmark, Wales and Northern Ireland but

 Eriksson stands by his team selections.

                                        

 And the England coach said: "I insisted

 on playing some important players, even

 though they were not at 100%.          

                                        

 "It was not one but three or four but I

 did it because I believe in the squad."
