Waste site becomes nature reserve
A new nature reserve is now open to the
public in Lincolnshire.
Mareham Pastures is an area the size of
15 football pitches next to one of the
main housing estates in Sleaford.
It was originally a landfill site, but
now boasts an all-weather wheelchair
friendly walk - and 200 trees have been
planted for the local community.
Organisers said it was important there
had been a lot of community involvement
in the project, especially from local
young people.
