 Defamation fine fo  author Morten      

 Princess Diana biographer Andrew Morton

 has been ordered to pay Keny 's chief  

 of  ustic  six million shil ing        

 (£45,700) for defaming him in print.   

                                        

 Mr Morton claimed Chief Justice Evan   

 Gicheru received special favours from  

 officials, in a biography of former    

 Kenyan president Daniel arap Moi.      

                                        

 Mr Gicheru was originally awarded 2.5  

 million shillings (£19,000) in 2000.   

                                        

 Mr Morton followed 1992's Diana: Her   

 True Story with biographies of David   

 and Victoria Beckham, and Madonna.
