 Tory party leadership contenders       

 There are four Tory MPs in the running 

 to replace Michael Howard: David Davis,

 David Cameron, Ken Clarke and Liam Fox.

                                        

 Nominations closed on Thursday. MPs    

 will vote on Tuesday - the MP with the 

 fewest votes is eliminated. Another    

 vote on Thursday eliminates a third.   

                                        

 There is then a ballot of the 300,000  

 party members to choose from the last  

 two. The result is due on 6 December.  

                                        

 An attempt to change the rules to give 

 MPs, rather than party members, the    

 final say was beaten last month.
