Ministers Wto learn Iraq lessons'
The UK must learn lessons about how to
plan for post-conflict situations in
the wake of its experience in Iraq,
ministers have said.
Responding to a report from the Commons
defence committee, the government
acknowledged it had failed to foresee
the scale of the insurgency in Iraq.
Nor had it foreseen the extent to which
Iraq's security apparatus would
dissolve in the wake of the invasion.
MPs said the post conflict stage was
marred by mistakes and misjudgements.
