ACCESSIBLE TRAINS IN THE PIPELINE
Dr John Low, RNID's Chief Executive
said:
"It really is astounding that in the
21st century, one of the world's
largest transport systems still relies
on its passengers being able to hear."
He called for a review of emergency
procedures, visual, real-time
information and deaf awareness training
for frontline staff.
A Transport for London spokesman said
there would be more accessible trains
on five lines from 2009.
