Barred councillor back in office
An East Riding councillor who was
suspended from office by a government
watchdog has returned to work after
winning an appeal.
Coleen Gill was asked to stand down in
December after an official complained
to the Adjudication Panel for England.
On Tuesday, a High Court judge ruled
the Liberal Democrat had unknowingly
broken council rules and reduced her
one year suspension to three months.
Mrs Gill, who represents the Dale Ward,
said justice had been done.
