 Fashionable Puma's roaring sales       

 Roaring sales of sportswear to the     

 fashion-conscious have lifted the      

 German sports goods maker Puma.        

                                        

 "The distinction between sport and     

 lifestyle is increasingly  blurring,"  

 said chief executive Jochen Zeitz.     

                                        

 Pre-tax profits rose 10.5% to 83.5m    

 euros (£57.6m; $100m) in its second    

 quarter, from 75.6m euros at the same  

 time last year.                        

                                        

 Puma said a 55.1% rise in sales in the 

 US contributed to total group sales of 

 395.5m euros.
