 Ferrero handed easy Croatia win    4/4 

 Juan Carlos Ferrero was handed a simple

 passage into the second round at the   

 Croatia Open on Tuesday.               

                                        

 The Spaniard was leading 6-0 3-1 when  

 his opponent, Finland's Jarko Nieminen,

 was forced to retire by injury.        

                                        

 Ferrero was joined in the second round 

 by six other Spaniards, including third

 seed Tommy Robredo, who beat Gustavo   

 Kuerten of Brazil 6-4 6-4.             

                                        

 Britain's Alex Mackin was handed a 6-2 

 6-2 defeat by Felix Mantilla, yet      

 another of the Spanish contingent.
