Column: Vintage movies become games
By Daniel Etherington
EA's Godfather game looks set to be yet
another crime-based free-roaming
experience, possibly comparable to
2002 PC game Mafia.
An evocative old NYC will provide the
backdrop as the players work their way
up the ranks of the Corleone family.
All well and good, but performing game
missions is a different kettle of fish
to sitting down and watching a movie,
however recognisable it is.
Godfather director Francis Ford Coppola
himself calls it 'a misuse of film'.
