 VOLUNTEERS ARE VITAL TO SP/RTS         

 Nearly six million sports volunteers   

 give 1.2 billion hours per year,       

 equating to 720,000 full-time workers. 

                                        

 Their contribution is worth over £14   

 billion to the English Economy. 26% of 

 all volunteers cite sport as their main

 area of interest.                      

                                        

 Some 44% of volunteers aged 18 to 24   

 engage in voluntary activities         

 involving sport or exercise.           

                                        

 Sports Month is one of 12 themed months

 in Year of the Volunteer supported by  

 CSV and the Home Office.
