 WEATHER TO BE MADE 'SIMPLER'  /# `{~%

 Television weathermen and women may    

 soon use simpler language in an attempt

 to make forecasts more "relevant" to   

 the public, the Met Office has said.   

                                        

 Less "Met speak" is to be introduced   

 as part of an internal review, but a   

 spokesman insisted the move does not   

 represent a dumbing-down of bulletins. 

                                        

 New guidelines advise against starting 

 a forecast with a bleak outlook if, in 

 fact, it will be fine for most areas.
