The first two compensation cheques for
London bombing victims were posted on
Monday, nearly three months after the
four suicide attacks killed 52 people.
Under the scheme, bereaved families get
only £11,000. That figure compares with
about £1.13m for each death claim made
by families of September 11 victims.
A maximum £500,000 can be paid to the
severely disabled, who can also claim
for loss of earnings and care costs.
