RONNIE BARKER: 1929-2005
Barry Cryer worked with Ronnie Barker
for 45 years and watched his career
scale the heights.
"I would put him in the same league as
Alec Guinness and Peter Sellers," he
said. "If he had gone into films he
would have been as big as them. He was
an amazing character comedian."
Unlike Sellers, Barker was not plagued
by self-doubt and only rarely chose the
wrong parts. He was also meticulous in
his preparation.
