 THORPE - NO COUNTY COMEBACK            

                                        

 Graham Thorpe insists there will be no 

 return to county cricket after this    

 winter's stint with New South Wales.   

                                        

 Thorpe, who has been plagued for years 

 with back problems, told Teletext: "I  

 may play with grade side Balmain, but  

 only if I'm playing OK and physically  

 OK, might I play for New South Wales.  

                                        

 "County cricket's physical, it's very  

 demanding. To be remembered as a good  

 player is important to me."
