JONES OUT OF ENGLAND TOUR
Simon Jones will miss England's tour of
Pakistan after failing to recover from
the ankle injury he sustained in the
fourth Ashes Test at Trent Bridge.
ECB chief medical officer Peter Gregory
said: "We have tried measures to help
the injury settle, but we are left with
no alternative but to operate.
"There should be sufficient time for
him to regain fitness for the tour to
India beginning in late February."
