Graham Thorpe insists the personal
problems he experienced earlier in his
career enabled him to move on after
being dropped from the Ashes series.
"In my life I'd experienced worse lows
than being left out of a cricket team,"
he told Teletext. "That's why it was
big cheers when England won the Ashes.
"If people had been inside me, they'd
see how happy I was just to be there.
Not on the field, but around cricket."
