 Charlton chief executive Peter Varney  

 has hit back at Crystal Palace chairman

 Simon Jordan's claims that the Addicks 

 have "nicked" fans from other clubs.   

                                        

 Varney told his club website: "It's    

 quite sad that Jordan does not seem    

 capable of writing a column without    

 making a snide comment about Charlton. 

                                        

 "This latest remark is misinformed and 

 deliberately inciting. We are not      

 setting out to steal fans from clubs."
