 PFA deputy chief executive Mick McGuire

 claims the decision to hand Birmingham 

 midfielder Nicky Butt a one-match ban  

 for abusive language was "harsh".      

                                        

 McGuire said: "We are disappointed.    

 Despite the concerns to ensure the     

 players respect the referees, this was 

 in my opinion a case in which it was   

 not intimidatory or threatening.       

                                        

 "This was simply an act of frustration 

 and it does seem harsh."
