 MEMORY LANE                            

                                        

 For the Star's 'Remember When' section 

 I unearthed a story from May '01:      

 'Gobarkingmad' announce that they will 

 launch a digital TV channel.           

                                        

 They've agreed terms for evening racing

 with eight small tracks and the furious

 BGRB threaten to expel the tracks.     

                                        

 Chief exec. Geoffrey Thomas warns them:

 "Our experience is that regular free-to

 air TV does damage attendances ... by  

 as much as 35-40 percent."
