 I WAS A PERRIER COMEDY AWARD JUDGE     

                                        

 As for the winners: I'm delighted that 

 Laura Solon's tight, sharp and         

 deliciously bad-taste character        

 sketches took the main Perrier award.  

                                        

 Tim Minchin's musical comedy is less my

 cup of tea. When he was announced as   

 Best Newcomer, I wish I'd been on a    

 grassy knoll with a rifle.             

                                        

 But they were honest decisions,        

 thought out and debated at length. And 

 I'm glad to have been a part of the    

 whole process.
