 The pound's strong run against the     

 dollar continues, although the latter  

 regained some ground after data showing

 US non-farm payrolls rose by 169,000 in

 August. While short of more bullish    

 estimates it still cut the jobless rate

 from 5% to a four-year low of 4.9%.    

                                        

 Traders still expect one fuqther 0.25% 

 rise in the key US rate to 3.75%, from 

 the Federal Reserve on September 20.
