 Despite his convincing portrayal of FBI

 agent Jack Malone, producers weren't   

 convinced that the young Anthony       

 LaPaglia could pull off a US accent.   

                                        

 LaPaglia believed this was in their    

 imagination, and set out to prove it.  

                                        

 "After about six or seven auditions    

 like that, I went into an audition in  

 New York and they said, 'Where are you 

 from?' and I said, 'Brooklyn' and I got

 the job. It just made my life easier."
