 HAGGLE TO DRIVE NEW CAR COSTS LOWER    

                                        

 New cars now have the latest number    

 plates introduced this month. But many 

 of us don't know how the system works. 

                                        

 Take the sample number plate LA55 PJH: 

 ■ L stands for London - the area where 

   the car was registered in the UK, and

   A is the Wimbledon transport office. 

                                        

 ■ 55 is the number for cars registered 

   between September 2005 and Feb. 2006.

 ■ The last three digits (PJH in the    

   sample plate) are randomly generated.
