 ABBOT AND HEN GAINS FOR GREENE KING    

                                        

 Brewer Greene King said summer trading 

 has held up, with sales in the 12 weeks

 to July 24 up by 1.2% - or 2.6% after  

 the "one off" boost from last year's   

 Euro 2004 competition is stripped out. 

                                        

 The group, whose brands also include   

 Abbot Ale and Old Speckled Hen said it 

 will update on progress in its £187m   

 bid for rival Belhaven on September 15.

                                        

 It also reports at today's AGM that the

 integration of Ridley's is going well.
