 CARE HOME SH/RTAGES TO COME    "dp:    

                                        

 UK care capacity in residential        

 settings for those with disabilities   

 and the elderly has been reduced by    

 nearly 9,000 places in the year to     

 April 2005.                            

                                        

 Nearly 600 independent care homes have 

 closed in the same period.             

                                        

 It is predicted that the demand        

 for care home places will rise by      

 10,000 places per annum over the
