 TOUGHER TIMES FOR PLASTIC 'RATE TARTS' 

                                        

 Virgin Money this week became the      

 latest firm to charge those moving     

 their balance onto its credit card.    

                                        

 Virgin will charge a fee of 2% of the  

 balance up to a maximum of £50, with a 

 minimum of £3.                         

                                        

 Rivals Halifax One, Barclaycarb, Egg   

 and MINT already make similar charges  

 for transfers. 'Rate tarts' must now be

 more careful where they go, but 0%     

 rates may still make fees worth paying.
