 Meet The Magoons writer-director       

 Hardeep Singh Kohli explains how the   

 show came about.                       

                                        

 "I was directing commercials and I     

 needed comedy and performance on my    

 show reel, so I wrote The Drop.        

                                        

 "It was sent around the world and won  

 awards. I thought it had died down but 

 then it was sent to Channel 4 and got  

 the Comedy Lab slot. They liked that   

 and wanted to commission a series."
