 JONES MAKING PROGRESS                  

                                        

 England bowler Simon Jones is making   

 progress in his race to be fit for the 

 final Ashes Test at The Oval.          

                                        

 Jones has an ankle problem and uncapped

 Chris Tremlett is on standby if the    

 Glamorgan bowler fails to come through.

                                        

 "He is progressing pretty well at the  

 moment," England bowling coach Troy    

 Cooley told Radio Five. "There is a    

 chance, and if there is a chance I am  

 sure Simon will take it."
