 PUBLIC CONFUSION OVER CAR PLATE SYSTEM 

                                        

 New number plates are due out this     

 week, but many of us have little       

 understanding of the system.           

                                        

 Some 27% of people questioned in a Post

 Office survey thought the new car plate

 numbers would be 05, rather than 55.   

                                        

 New plates come in on March 1 and      

 September 1. A March registration is   

 shown by a 0 and a September one by a  

 5. The second letter indicates the     

 year.
