 Geisha film reveals 'hidden culture'   

 For lead actress Ziyi Zhang, 26, the   

 challenge was even greater since the   

 film Memoirs of a Geisha marked her    

 first English-language role.           

                                        

 In accepting the much-coveted role of  

 Sayuri, Zhang felt a "tremendous       

 pressure" to live up to expectations.  

                                        

 "For me this is an international movie,

 it's not a Japanese movie," she said.  

                                        

 "No matter what our cultural           

 backgrounds, we all had to learn how to

 become a geisha, and to train hard,"   

 says the Golden Globe-nominated star.
