 Bumper year for UK game industry       

 The UK gaming industry had its best    

 year ever in 2005 reveals figures from 

 the The Entertainment & Leisure        

 Software Publishers Association.       

                                        

 A modest annual increase in growth of  

 0.7% saw the UK gaming market grow to  

 be worth £1.35bn. Top selling game of  

 2005 was Fifa 06.                      

                                        

 Elspa said this was healthy given that 

 2005 was a transition year between     

 generations of gaming consoles.        

                                        

 However, Elspa said, handheld game     

 launches helped firms prosper.
