Man bailed in child murder case
A man has denied murdering a three-
year-old girl in Leicestershire almost
25 years ago.
Nicholas Byard, 45, was arrested in
October 2005 after detectives followed
up new evidence on the death of Lisa
Jayne Pegg in February 1982.
A coroner originally recorded an open
verdict after Lisa died at her home in
Burbage, Leicestershire.
The case at Leicester Crown Court was
adjourned until October. Mr Byard, of
Barwell, Leics, was released on bail.
