 Doherty held for 'owning drugs'        

 Babyshambles singer Pete Doherty has   

 been arrested in east London on        

 suspicion of possessing Class A drugs. 

                                        

 He was held after stopping his car for 

 police, who had been attempting to flag

 down a car behind him in Hackney.      

                                        

 Doherty "behaved in a manner that      

 caught officers' attention" and was    

 held on suspicion of possessing drugs  

 and driving under their influence.     

                                        

 The latter allegation was dropped. He  

 was bailed until 2 February as police  

 examine the substances seized.
