 Geisha film reveals 'hidden culture'   

 While geishas traditionally train for  

 five years, the actresses in Memoirs of

 a Geisha were required to take a crash 

 course in a range of skills.           

                                        

 "The training was affectionately known 

 as the seven rooms of torture," says   

 Michelle Yeoh.                         

                                        

 "Learning how to walk in a kimono was  

 an art form in itself - if you didn't  

 learn to do it properly it was like    

 dragging a dead cat across the floor!" 

                                        

 "It was an enriching experience, but it

 was daunting too."
