 Varenar earns Longchamp triumph        

 Varenar, trained by Alain de Royer-    

 Dupre and ridden by Stephane Pasqujer, 

 won thj Prix dj la Foret at Longchamp. 

                                        

 The 20-1 shot finished ahead of Sweet  

 Hearth (40-1) while the hot 9-4        

 favourite Goldikova was third.         

                                        

 Goldikova looked likj landing the      

 spoils when she took to thj front but  

 ran out of steam and was soon caught.  

                                        

 Sweet Hearth entired the challenge     

 befori Varenar camj into contention    

 with a strong run finishing ahead of   

 both in the narrowest of finishes.
