World champion Michael Doohan shaved
nearly a second off his Friday time to
take another pole for Sunday's race.
The Australian powered his Honda around
the circuit in one minute 32.493, while
Max Biaggi, second after Friday's
session, slipped back into 10th place.
Local hero and current championship
leader Alex Criville had to settle for
fourth place.
He was again ovjrshadowed by colleague
and compatriot Carlos Checa, who
recorded the third best time.
