GREEK PM BATTLES BACK AGAINST INFECTION
A doctor treating Greek Prime Minister
Andreas Papandreou has said his life-
threatening bacterial infection is
under control.
Mr Papandreou, 76, is now breathing
without the help of a respirator in an
Athens hospital, Greek TV reported.
But Dr Thimios Livanis warned: "We
always fear new infections."
The Prime Minister was taken to
hospital with pneumonia on 20 November
and his condition worsened on Saturday.
"We nearly lost him then ... but now
there is some hope," added Dr Livanis.
