 CAREY ADDRESSES IMPORTANCE OF FAMILY   

 The Archbishop of Canterbury has spoken

 of the importance of family life in    

 society in his Christmas message.      

                                        

 Dr George Carey said that many had     

 sensed some of the pain the Prince and 

 Princess of Wales carried, and the     

 sudden grief of the family of the      

 murdered headmaster, Phillip Lawrence. 

                                        

 He also said the trial of Rosemary West

 was an horrific reminder that the      

 strong bonds that bound families       

 together could go terribly wrong.
