 HOMELESS FLOCKING TO CRISIS CENTRES    

 Several thousand homeless people       

 throughout Britain have been making use

 of the centres set up for the Christmas

 period by the charity, Crisis.         

                                        

 The 24 centres, which will remain open 

 for a week, provide food and shelter   

 and medical services for the homeless  

 as well as give advice on welfare and  

 housing benefits.                      

                                        

 The charity has also joined up with the

 National Canine Defence League to give 

 help to homeless people with pets.     

                                        

 The Government is also providing an    

 extra 5,000 beds for the homeless.
