 Leeds put another dent in Manchester   

 United's Championship hopes with a hard

 earned win in a feverish atmosphere.   

                                        

 Gary McAllister fired them ahead from a

 sixth minute penalty after handball by 

 Nicky Butt before Brian Deane placed a 

 delightful chip on to the bar.         

                                        

 Butt atoned by making the equaliser for

 Andy Cole, whose shot squirmed past    

 Mark Beeney, but Tony Yeboah restored  

 Leeds' advantage with a solo effort.   

                                        

 The Reds battled hard after the break  

 but Deane sealed victory by heading in 

 Tomas Brolin's cunning chip.
