 FRIENDS OF THE EARTH LOOKS BACK ON 1995

 January: Friends of the Earth's        

 Campaigns Director Andrew Lees, is     

 found dead in the Madgascan forest     

 where he was investigating RTZ.        

                                        

 February: Mahogany Week is launched,   

 over 100 Friends of the Earth groups   

 take part in the campaign.             

                                        

 March: The Home Energy Conservation    

 Bill is passed. It was backed by FOE   

 and other organisations.               

                                        

 April: Plans to widen M25 are abandoned

 after intense opposition from local    

 people and Friends of the Earth.
