 SNOW AFFECTS POWER SUPPLIES IN SCOTLAND

 Heavy snowfalls have left thousands of 

 homes in the north of Scotland without 

 electricity.                           

                                        

 About 4,000 properties on the Isle of  

 Lewis, the Orkney Islands and the      

 Shetland Islands are now reported to be

 without power.                         

                                        

 Engineers are having to battle through 

 five-foot snow drifts and winds of up  

 to 50mph.                              

                                        

 More snow and high winds have been     

 forecast and police have warned drivers

 to take care.
