 ISRAELI FOREIGN MINISTER VISITS CAIRO  

 The Israeli Foreign Minister, Ehud     

 Barak, is in Cairo for talks with      

 Egyptian leaders on the Middle East    

 peace process.                         

                                        

 Mr Barak is expected to hold talks with

 his Egyptian counterpart, Amr Musa, and

 President Hosni Mubarak.               

                                        

 His visit is the first since taking up 

 his post last month.                   

                                        

 Yesterday, Syria's President Assad was 

 in the Egyptian capital to discuss the 

 prospects for next week's talks between

 Israel and Syria.
