 COMMONS AND LORDS ON CHRISTMAS BREAK   

 The House of Commons and the House of  

 Lords have adjourned for the winter    

 recess.                                

                                        

 Both houses will return from the       

 Christmas break on Tuesday, 9 January. 

                                        

 Business in the Commons is expected to 

 begin with defence questions, followed 

 by questions to the Prime Minister.    

                                        

 In the Lords, the provisional agenda   

 includes debates on acid rain, the     

 Rough Sleeper's Initiative and the     

 Elgin marbles.
