 NORTH SEA BIRDS ARE HIT BY POLLUTION   

 An investigation has been launched     

 after dead and badly-oiled seabirds    

 were found washed-up on beaches.       

                                        

 All of the birds were guillemots and   

 were found along the North Sea         

 coastline between Aberdeen and the     

 small village of Newburgh.             

                                        

 Eleven badly-oiled birds were taken to 

 an animal welfare centre run by the    

 Scottish Society for the Prevention of 

 Cruelty to Animals.                    

                                        

 It is believed the birds may have hit a

 small patch of oil as there is nothing 

 visible on the water.
