 BOSSES "HOPEFUL" FOR 1994              

                                        

 Employers are more optimistic about job

 prospects in the New Year although one 

 in five still expects to have to       

 announce redundancies, a survey shows. 

                                        

 Employment group Manpower said its poll

 produced the most hopeful forecast for 

 the first quarter of a year since 1990.

                                        

 Of almost 2,000 employers quizzed, 18% 

 forecast job increases, a "significant"

 improvement on last year, it said.
